In Her Light IX is painted with acrylics on a 20 × 20 cm deep edged canvas. I’ve been loving the colour magenta over the past couple years. It’s such a rich colour which I hope to incorporate in a lot more of my future paintings. I have also incorporated a mirror gathered in Punjab.
The design draws from my hand-painted bookmarks, forming a study of colour, pattern, and reflection. Hand-painted elements sit alongside embedded mirrors, exploring memory, presence, and adornment through the movement of natural light.
